On November 28, 2016, the Board voted to adopt Bar 300-400 as a regular initial rulemaking proposal. The Board will hold a public hearing on these rules at the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification, 121 South Fruit Street, Concord, NH 03301, on January 9, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Oral comments may be presented to the Board at that time. Written comments will be accepted through January 19, 2017, and may be emailed directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As of August 20, 2016, estheticians may perform natural nail manicures only with proper training. Temporary permits will be valid for 60 days. Shampoo assistants will no longer require licensure. Persons employed as shampoo assistants in a licensed shop who perform the functions of shampooing, rinsing and removing rollers or perm rods, and rinsing treated or untreated hair are now exempt from licensure.
As of March 14, 2016, estheticians are not allowed to perform microneedling/dermarolling services. The Board has determined that these services are not within the scope of practice for estheticians.
