On May 2, 2017, the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians voted on an initial proposal covering Mtec 304.02. pdf file The Board will be holding a public hearing on this proposal at its scheduled meeting on June 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Office of Professional Licensure & Certification, 121 S. Fruit Street, Concord, NH 03301. Oral testimony on the proposed changes to the rule may be presented at the public hearing. Written testimony may be submitted at that public hearing, by U.S. Mail, or by email to Robert.lambertijr@nh.gov until June 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions about this proposal please contact Robert J. The mission of the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians is to assure that the services provided by our registrants protect healthcare consumer against harm which may be caused by unqualified or impaired practitioners.

"Medical technician'' means a health care worker who is not licensed or registered by a New Hampshire regulatory board and who assists licensed health care professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. For the purposes of this chapter, medical technicians shall be limited to health care workers with access to controlled substances and with access to or contact with patients in a health care facility or in a medical establishment.

Recently the Board of Registration for Medical Technicians sent packets to a wide range of individuals. If you receive one of these packets, it is to inform you that, if you or any of your employees, who are not licensed or certified by a State of New Hampshire entity and have access to controlled substances (if the substances are on premisses), those individuals must register with this office. These packets are informational.
