  • Notice to Licensees whose licenses expire 12/31/2022:

    In accordance with RSA 332-B:13 III, and Chapter Vet 100, as a condition of renewal, a veterinarian shall show proof of attendance at an approved continuing education program or programs totaling at least 24 hours in the 2-year period preceding the renewal date. Approved programs shall be at the discretion of the board, in accordance with rules adopted by the board. The Board of Veterinary Medicine will currently accept up to 100% of virtual online learning obtained in the present renewal cycle. 

    A selection of relevant rules is listed below.  Please also refer to the Board rules.

    Vet 102.01(c)  “Approved provider of continuing education” means any person, professional association, university or college, corporation, or other entity that has met the requirements of the board to provide educational courses that are designed to assure continued competence in the practice of veterinary medicine or veterinary technology;
     
    Vet 102.01(d) “Approved program of continuing education” means an educational program approved by the board or offered by an approved provider of continuing education;

    Vet 102.01 (m) “Continuing education” means training which is designed to assure continued competence in the practice of veterinary medicine or veterinary technology;

     Vet 102.01 (n) “Continuing education contact hour” means a 50 to 60-minute clock hour of instruction, not including breaks or meals.
