About the Board

The Naturopathic Board of Examiners consists of 5 members appointed by the Governor. Terms of appointment to the Board are for 5 years.

The board:

  • Provides standards for the licensure and regulation of doctors of naturopathic medicine.
  • Examines, investigates and licenses persons who apply for the authority to practice naturopathic medicine in New Hampshire.
  • Adopts the formulary and revisions of the formulary approved by the Council on Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine Formulary.  The formulary lists the substances that may be prescribed by a doctor of naturopathic medicine.
  • Undertakes disciplinary proceedings and disciplinary actions against licensees as necessary.

Meetings are held at least semi-annually and require a quorum of 4 members. At the first meeting of each year, the board elects a chair, treasurer and secretary.
