LNA Reimbursement FAQs and Guidelines

If you are a Nursing Assistant (NA) you may be eligible for reimbursement of your training and testing costs.

Listed below are the requirements that must be met in order for you to receive this reimbursement. The Nursing Assistant Reimbursement form pdf file can be found on the Board of Nursing website.

  • All related receipts must be attached to your application. These receipts must have the training/testing facility's name and address imprinted on them. The receipts must show the date of transaction, what the receipt was for, the amount paid, and the method of payment. Credit card receipts are not acceptable. An invoice/statement from your Nursing Assistant Program showing full payment has been received must be attached to your reimbursement application. Photocopies of cancelled checks are permissible if both sides of the check are copied and attached. An application must be completely filled out, including your full address, by yourself and by the nursing facility that hired you, and forwarded to the Board of Nursing at 121 South Fruit Street, Concord, NH 03301.
  • The training/competency testing must be approved by the Board of Nursing.
  • You must have become employed by a nursing facility (nursing home) that is licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) no later than 12 months after you have successfully completed the training/testing.
  • Your hire date by the facility (nursing home) must be after the completion date of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program. Training done by the employing facility for their employees is not eligible for this reimbursement.
  • You must have paid for the training/testing out of your own personal funds. Payments made by third parties (i.e.: when someone else pays for your training) are not eligible for reimbursement.
