Can I reciprocate my APRN license to NH?

There is no reciprocity for the APRN license. You will need to submit an initial application and all required documentation for this license type and can use this application checklist

How do I complete my criminal background check for licensure?

If you are completing your background check in the State of New Hampshire, follow the instructions for option B; if you are completing your background check outside the State of New Hampshire, follow instructions for C. 

I have been audited, what is the process to provide the continuing education I have completed?

If you have been selected for an audit during your renewal, we will access your account in CE BROKER to confirm that you are in compliance with the continuing education requirements set forth by the laws and rules of your profession.

How do I apply for a temporary license to take my NCLEX?

For RN or LPN, complete the application and provide payment. You can only receive this temporary license once. Temporary Application is a paper application and submitted in mail or in person at our office.

My license has expired for less than one year, how to I get it back to active status?

If your license has been expired for one year or less, you will need to complete the reinstatement application for your license type and provide all required documentation. Reinstatements cannot be completed online at this time; you will need to complete the paper application which is accessible from the Application link on the homepage for the New Hampshire Board of Nursing. You can also confirm the Reinstatement Fee (only) from the Application link found on the Board page. 

My license has been expired for one year or more, how do I get it back to active status?

If your license has been in an expired status for one year or more, you will need to complete the initial application, submit payment, and complete the criminal background check.

How do I confirm fees?

All fees are nonrefundable and can be confirmed on the License Fees page.

What are the processing time frames?

We process all applications in the order in which they are received. Please allow 10-14 business days for the initial review and first communication from OPLC; we cannot provide status updates prior to the 10th business day. All communication from OPLC is issued via email. Adding oplclicensing10@oplc.nh.gov and nh.licenses@doit.nh.gov  to your email contacts will help ensure you receive our communication to your primary inbox. Please also check all folders in your inbox if you do not see our emails in your inbox.

Who can assist me to understand the laws and rules for my profession?

Unfortunately, we cannot interpret the laws or rules as it is considered legal advice which is out of our scope. If you have questions regarding law or rule, you will need to consult with your attorney.

How do I determine scope of practice for my license type?

You will need address your inquiry to the Board in the form of an email and submit to: oplclicensing10@oplc.nh.gov. Your request will be reviewed by the Board at the next scheduled meeting and OPLC will follow up with your inquiry via email seven business days after the conclusion of the Board meeting. Please be advised that agendas close two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. If the agenda is full or your question was not submitted in time, it could take two months before the Board can address your question.

I am retiring, what do I need to do?

If you are retiring, you will just let your license expire. You will continue to receive automated renewal reminders, and an expiration notice until the license’s status automatically updates to “expired”.
